Are we all being played, once again, on "don't ask, don't tell?" The White House claims that it doesn't want the DADT repeal stripped from the DOD bill, but isn't threatening a veto if that does happen, as it is with other provisions the White House cares about. The Human Rights Campaign is saying that it's just "background noise" to suggest Senator Levin is in fact considering stripping DADT repeal from the bill, but Senator Levin's office still won't deny it's true. Defense Secretary Gates claims he now wants the Senate to vote on repeal in the lame duck session, but he's refusing to release the implementation study early. And General Amos has been "rebuked" for his heinous remarks and clear insubordination, but what does "rebuke" mean if it's really nothing at all and these generals can pretty much say what they want to undermine the president and help John McCain? It's all pretty gross, and looks bad. We'll go through it on today's show.
