Today on the Signorile Show

3:35pm ET - On Friday, the House passed a bill that would keep the government from shutting down on September 30th, but would also defund the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.  Igor Volsky, Managing Editor with Think Progress, returns to the show this afternoon to speak with us about the showdown in Washington, the infighting with Republicans, and what needs to be done to prevent a shut down with only a week left.

4:35pm ET - Last weekend, Lawrence Summer sent a letter to President Obama pulling his name from the possible nomination to replace Ben Bernanke as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.  Many progressives were celebrating this as a win.  What does the defeat of Summers mean and what are the chances that Janet Yellin, another potential name for the position, gets the job?  William Greider, National Affairs Correspondent with The Nation, returns to the show to explain.
