3:35pm ET - There have been rumors floating around DC that some kind of gun-control legislation may come back to the Senate later this year, and if this proves to be the case, it will probably involve another attempt to widen federal background checks to include private gun transactions.  However a case was decided by the Supreme Court yesterday which, had the 5-4 vote gone the other way, might have made the whole background check system null and void.  Joining us to discuss the justices decision and what it means is Mike Wesser, a blogger for Huffington Post who has been in the Gun business for 35 years as a retailer, wholesaler, importer and firearms trainer, he is also a NRA Life member.

4:30pm ET - The history of civil rights for LGBT Americans took a dramatic turn on June 26, 2013 when the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which since 1996 had defined marriage as being between one man and one woman. The Court also let stand a lower ruling that declared Proposition 8—the 2008 voter referendum outlawing same-sex marriage in California—unconstitutional.   In their new book Redeeming the Dream: The Case for Marriage Equality, David Boies and Ted Olson, the attorneys behind the legal challenge to prop 8, detail the key legal issues framing the fight for marriage equality and the strategy they chose to battle marriage discrimination against LGBT Americans.  Joining us today to discuss his new book is Theodore B. Olson, one of the premier appellate lawyers in the country who has argued sixty cases before the US Supreme Court including Bush v. Gore and Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission.
