Today on the Signorile Show

3:30pm ET - SiriusXM Progress Host Mark Thompson from 'Make It Plain' returns to the show this afternoon from the AFL-CIO Convention in Los Angeles to discuss the major issues affecting unions and workers and what needs to be done to institute effective change.  We'll also get his thoughts on what's happening in Syria as well as Ben Jealous stepping down from his position as President of the NAACP.

4:30pm ET - Laura Helmuth, Slate.com's Science Editor, joins us this afternoon to discuss a fascinating series she's been working on, 'Why Are You Not Dead Yet', which looks such things as how life expectancy has doubled in the past 150 years and why that makes humans human.
