Today on the Signorile Show

3:35pm ET - On Wednesday, May 7, the Center for American Progress and the Center for Gender and Sexuality Law at Columbia University Law School released a joint federal policy road-map examining the significant over-representation LGBT and people living with HIV in the country’s penal system. The road-map focuses on the often overlooked experiences of the LGBT communities and how justice continues to be elusive and conditional for these populations due to a range of unequal laws and policies that dehumanize, victimize, and criminalize them because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status.  Joining us to discuss this federal policy road-map is Urvashi Vaid, the Director of the Engaging Tradition Project at the Center for Gender and Sexuality Law at Columbia Law School and a member of the Board of Directors of the Gill Foundation.

4:20pm ET -On Sunday May 25, HBO will debut its new film adaptation of Larry Kramer’s Tony-Award winning play A Normal Heart.  The film tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS Crisis in the early 1980’s and takes a look at the activists who fought to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic and end the nation’s denial of what was really happening.  Joining us to talk about the film is Taylor Kitsch who plays the role of Bruce Niles.  THE NORMAL HEART debuts SUNDAY, MAY 25 (9:00-11:15 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.
