Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

North Carolina House of Representatives voted to override Governor Pat McCrory’s veto of Senate Bill 2, the Magistrates Recusal bill. This anti-LGBT bill excuses North Carolina magistrates and other public officials from performing marriage services for couples with whom they do not agree.  The vote was held with no warning and no debate allowed, and comes a week after the Senate overrode the veto as well.  Joining me today to talk all about the bill and how it discriminates against the states LGBT citizens and creates problems for all North Carolinians who seek use of taxpayer-funded public services is Chris Sgro Executive Director of Equality North Carolina, the state’s largest LGBT advocacy organization.

The ongoing drought in California has become big news across the country, as residents and business’ in the state struggle to conserve water.  However what most people may not realize is that drought is actually causing the state to sink, and new details emerging highlight just how severe this sinking has become and how little the government has done to monitor it.  Joining me today to talk about the problem and how it will cause extensive damage to the state’s infrastructure and economy is Nathan Halverson a reporter and producer who covers business and finance for the Center for Investigative Reporting and recently wrote all about the problem for the Center’s website RevealNews.org.
