Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Yesterday, Defense Secretary Ash Carter ordered a six-month study aimed at formally ending one of the last gender- or sexuality-based barriers to military service saying that the Pentagon's current regulations banning transgender individuals from serving in the military are outdated.  Joining me today to talk all about this announcement and what it will mean for the future of the military and the estimated 15,000 transgender people currently serving in the active-duty military and the reserves is Allyson Robinson, Army veteran and policy director for Service Members, Partners and Allies for Respect and Tolerance for All, or SPARTA.  You can also follow Allyson on twitter.
