Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Earlier today Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) and Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) introduced a new bill called the Equality Act.  The legislation would protect LGBT people from discrimination in housing, workplaces, schools, and public accommodations.  The bill would extend the same set of rights to LGBT Americans that are currently afforded to other protected groups, including people of color and Religions, under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other existing federal laws.  Joining me today to talk all about the bill is Rep. David Cicilline, who represents Rhode Island’s 1st District and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  You can also follow Congressman Cicilline on twitter.

Noah Michelson, Executive Editor at The Huffington Post's Gay Voices, returns to The Signorile Show today to help us close out the week with the stories making headlines in the LGBT blog-o-sphere. You can also follow Noah on facebook and twitter.
