The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Yesterday, President Obama traveled to Alaska in order to spotlight the fact that climate change is one of the biggest threats we face as a nation, and to emphasize the fact that it is being driven by human activity.  This trip also comes right after his administration proposed measures to cut carbon emissions from our Nation’s energy sector, but according to some activist his environmental rhetoric falls flat when compared with his mixed record on climate.  Joining me today to discuss the President’s Alaskan trip and why some activist are calling the President a hypocrite when it comes to action on climate change is Eric Holthaus a meteorologist who writes about weather and climate for Slate’s Future Tense blog.  You can also follow Eric on twitter.

Earlier today, The Movement Advancement Project (MAP), an independent think tank that provides rigorous research, insight and analysis that help speed equality for LGBT people, released a new report examining how state and federal religious exemption laws are being used across the country to harm a broad range of people, interfere with law enforcement, and undermine the rule of law.  Joining me today to discuss the report and its findings is Ineke Mushovic MAP’s Executive Director and Heron Greenesmith who leads MAP’s LGBT movement research analyses and conducts research in support of MAP’s public policy work.
