The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

On Monday, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis will return to work, and as of now her lawyers refuse to say whether she will continue to allow her deputies to issue marriage licenses as they have been doing since last Friday.  Joining me today to talk all about the Kim Davis saga and how it may last until January, if not longer is Zack Ford, the editor of ThinkProgress LGBT at the Center for American Progress Action Fund.  You can also follow Zack on twitter.

In his new book Freedom of Speech: Mightier Than the Sword, Pulitzer Prize winning author and former New York Times journalist David K. Shipler offers a provocative assessment of the state of the 1st Amendment and free speech in America today.  Focusing on recent free speech controversies across the nation to present a picture of our shifting political and cultural norms, he reveals the systemic patterns of both suppression and opportunity that are making today a transitional moment for the future of one of our founding principles.  Davis joins me today to talk all about the book and the importance of the freedom of speech to our democracy.
