Back in 2004, Kentaro Toyama, a computer scientist at Microsoft was sent to India to start a new research group for company with a mission to find technological solutions to the world’s social problems. However, after a decade of creating technologies for humanitarian causes, he concluded that no technology, however amazing, could cause social change on its own.  In his new book Geek Heresy: Rescuing Social Change From The Cult of Technology he argues that even in an age of incredible technology, social progress depends on human changes and action that gadgets just can’t deliver.  Kentaro joins me today to talk all at the book.  You can also follow Kentaro on twitter.

Don't forget, you can follow Michelangelo on Twitter, Facebook, & and Instagram!
