BP Chief's Gay Secret


Almost 20 years after Malcolm Forbes' death -- and my reporting, posthumously, on the facts about his life -- here we have yet another example of how the closet corupts even someone so powerful as an oil industry leader. If Lord John Browne wasn't so consumed with his secret he might not have been trying to find guys at an escort service and/or wouldn't care who knew that or any facts about his gay life, certainly not to the point of lying to a court and risking everything. And he wouldn't now be out of job and 30 million bucks and brought down in disgrace.
