Listeners weigh in

We had a couple of fascinating discussions on the show today about the Biden/Obama exchange, which I'd written about in the post below. A few listeners thought it was infidelity -- and not homosexuality -- that Obama wanted to distance himself from, albeit it with a joke. I must say that that sounds like it could be true, though I'm not sure and I still think the joke undercut his previous argument about how we have to break down the stigma associated with AIDS.

And some people thought it was Joe Biden -- not necessarily homosexuality -- that Obama wanted people to understand he wasn't involved with! (And we can all understand why anyone wouldn't want people to think they were involved with Joe Biden!)

Anyway, interesting discussion. Thanks to the dozens of people who called in, and the hundreds who tried to (our phone lines were jammed both times we talked about this issue over the course of the four hour show).
