Some misogyny with your Caramel Macchiato?

This is a fascinating, disturbing piece on what it's like for a woman in that big and gleaming, modern desert kingdom we shower with money so that we can fill our cars with gas. We all know how the Saudis treat women, but this piece by LA Times reporter Megan Stack illuminated for me just how much damage the Saudi oppression of women causes -- to women there, to women around the world, and to all of us, everywhere.

And why are our hip and diversity-espousing American chain businesses, like Starbucks, going overseas only to become something akin to the Southern diners of yesteryear ,where certain people weren't allowed at the lunch counter? It's pretty disgraceful, on the part of all of us.

I'd like to bring the Megan Stack on the show to talk about it.
