Name that Moralist-o-crite!
I mentioned on the show last week that we’d have a contest over who would be the next U.S. senator to be publicly exposed by the DC Madam’s phone list, which Hustler publisher Larry Flynt is diligently working hard to bring to public attention. Gay marriage foe Sen. David Vitter, we're promised, was only a taste of what's to come.
Flynt said last week that he’s got more than a couple of dozen active investigations, and he gave a hint as to who would be next, implying that the individual or individuals voted for the federal marriage amendment.
This week he’s talking about actually releasing 30 names at once! Well then, we've got to get our contest underway. As usual, we’ll make this a book giveaway, giving away books by authors who have been on the show, and I’ll shoot for second or third hour of the show today. Obviously, we'll take your entries now and then declare a winner after the next name drops.(And yes, if Flynt releases 30 names at once, don't worry: We've got plenty of books, including a few of Al Gore's The Assault on Reason).
Listener Jay from New Haven has already claimed a certain pious Connecticut independent politician will be next to be exposed. (Jay doesn't have any inside info: it's just a bit of wishful thinking as he can't stand that politician). Flynt did say on Larry King that one senator on his list shocked even him, but just remember the hint: they likely (though i guess not necessarily) voted for the federal marriage amendment, which would narrow it to the right-wing of the Republican Party. This should be fun!
