Catching up on a lot of news, having been at the convention all weekend. The story about the brtual treatment of gays in Iraq, which we've focused on a gret deal, is something getting more attention in the media, including this LA Times story. In addition to the police and the U.S.-backed government, GLBT people are targeted by the very militias that the U.S. military is now cutting deals with and empowering.
