Naugle Hatefest Rolls On

It was only a matter of time: The fundie fringe is coming out in full force for Fort Lauderdale mayor Jim Naugle and his crusade against (nonexistent) sex in public toilets. Andy Towle points us in the direction of this new "coalition" of groups, Healthypublicplaces.com, that seems to be led by that same obscure Christian evangelical crackpot who has backed Naugle from the beginning, O'Neal Dozier, the senior pastor of the Worldwide Christian Center in Pompano Beach.

But now Coral Ridge Ministries, Americans for Truth and other groups have signed on. Aside from Coral Ridge, it's pretty much the fundie fringe (which can be more dangerous, so I don't mean to downplay them), as there's no American Family Association or Focus on the Family signed on. In the list, however, are the outfits of a couple people we've had fun with on the show: Stephen Bennett, the "ex-gay" founder of Stephen Bennett Ministries, who gives us endless fun listening to his "Straight Talk Radio" show with his co-host, wife and "ex-lesbian" Irene; and our favorite, the oh-so-butch Janet "in your face Christians!" Folger of Faith2Action, yet a another radio program that "turns people of faith into people of action, to win the culture wars in America."

We've had Bennett on the show, but alas, Janet, will not come on after first booking with us several times and then canceling. I don't bite Janet!
