Tucker Carlson's Gay-bashing Rant

Tucker Carlson is saying he was misunderstood when he said he'd bashed a man in a bathroom for allegedly coming on to him. When we played the clip on the show yesterday people were outraged; it was quite clear what he said. Now he wrote to Media Matters telling a different story of what happened in that bathroom. It's not adequate by a long shot, and GLAAD has called on him and MSNBC to apologize. It's gross how Joe Scarborough and Dan Abrams just cackle along at the discussion of violence. They need to answer to this too.

This is all part of Carlson's desperation as he continues to spiral downward and is trying to tap into that Imus crowd of angry white men. Just a few weeks ago you recall he made hideous remarks about transgendered people and gender identity, after John Edwards spoke supportively at the HRC/Logo forum. “Just because you’re castrated and have a fake set of boobs does not make you a woman," he'd said. "It makes you a castrated man with a fake set of boobs." He was outraged that John Edwards would actually accept and "encourage" someone to "castrate" himself.

Above everything else, Tucker Carlson is just bad TV. He really should go.
