Big Lives

The past week marked the loss of some towering gay and lesbian figures. I discussed them all on the show and promised to link to their illustrious histories for listeners. Historian Allan Berube died yesterday, following on the deaths of pioneering Stonewall activist Bob Kohler, lesbian novelist Jane Rule and the "godfather of disco", and a warm and generous man I got to know as a AIDS activist in years past, Mel Cherin. To all of them, RIP.
