The U.S. Ministry of Propaganda
This story in The New York Times, about how the Bush administration used "military analysts," or as the Pentagon called them, "message force multipliers," underscores how this administration virtually controlled the U.S. television media for 8 years as it launched wars and downplayed scandals. Everyone made a killing, it appears, especially the analysts, who all had ties to contractors and suppliers for the war because of their connections to the administration, while they got paid by the networks too. Just go and read it.
We'll be talking a lot about this on the show today -- certainly no one on the television news is talking about it.
