ART PANIC!

New York area artist Yazmany Arboleda was briefly detained and questioned by the Secret Service yesterday after his new show " “The Assassination of Hillary Clinton/The Assassination of Barack Obama” opened in midtown Manhattan. The title may be in poor taste, but it definitely got attention for Arboleda's message:
"“It’s art,” he said. “It’s not supposed to be harmful. It’s about character assassination — about how Obama and Hillary have been portrayed by the media.
Authorities maintain they aren't trying to shut the show down, just trying to determine what Arboleda's "motives" are. This isn't the first time art that touches on, well, "touchy" subjects has gotten New York artists into trouble. In 2002, a School of Visual Arts student caused a panic (and was later was charged with "reckless endangerment") after he placed small cardboard boxes with the word "fear" written on them around a the Union Square subway station.
