"Between a Man and a Woman"

Can't we expect more from Obama than that in talking about marriage? Several days ago on the show we talked about Obama's interview with Jake Tapper at ABC about the California weddings. I meant to post something here, to see what you all thought, particularly about the dance he did: Saying he doesn't support marriage for gays but then saying he wasn't upset by what was happening in California. We discussed whether or not he can come further on this and stop this silliness, since the right is going to paint him as being for gay marriage anyway.

But one thing he can do -- and it is something that activists are now demanding he do -- is to stop saying marriage is between a "man and a woman." It is a biblical definition and one that Hillary Clinton apologized to New York Lgbt voters for having used, and she stopped doing it, realizing it was offensive. That was way back during her last Senate campaign. She hasn't said it since.

Andrew at Queerty has more on activists rightly criticizing Obama for this, and he has the ABC clip there as well. Between this and Sam Nunn on the short list for VP, I think Obama's got to be careful about alienating LGBT voters. Plus, it's just plain offensive, and no, I don't think this 46-year-old highly educated man really believes it. What do you think?
