Civil Liberties About to Take Off
The government now has the power to rummage through the files on your laptop without a warrant if you happen to be traveling through the airport. Apparently this has upset some Senators on the Judiciary Committee who are concerned about "basic constitutional safeguards against warrantless searches" and "gross infringement on the right to privacy" or whatever silly business we pay these Senators to go on and on about.
Anyways, the Feds thinks this abuse of power is essential to stop the terrorists™, but the intellectual skill set (much less computer searching ability) of the average TSA worker doesn't inspire much confidence. Seriously, the last time we were at the airport we saw TSA officials arguing over whether Ketchup was a liquid.
