Baby "Outsourcing"

Thanks to Towleroad for the tip on this story, which we'll be asking your opinion about on the show: Gay men in Australia are flying to the United States in increasing numbers to purchase eggs and rent wombs, heading to fertility clinics and getting surrogate mothers. The average cost of the process runs around $80,000(US). The article claims these men are coming to the U.S. because womb rental is illegal in Australia, but we think it's probably because the collapsing dollar is making exports of U.S. commodities cheaper.

Anyways, we're happy for these new families, but it bothers us that the focus is just on gay men trying to get babies. It's been documented many times that straight people fly all over the world for surrogate mothers, so how is this any different?
