Obama's Capitulations

From FISA to faith-based, it's all been described as "smart politics" by some, even as it completely sells out important issues and people, and goes against everything for which Obama has stood. And some people have said, well, he isn't really going to do these things, or he doesn't really believe these things, just hang tight. But what do we know? We've heard it all too many times before not to be concerned. More significantly, we know how the right uses it in a campaign once they see a Democrat backtracking: That Democrat gets cornered.

Markos puts it well when he says he will not reward bad behavior -- and he is someone who has been a staunch Obama supporter and was very hard on Hillary Clinton throughout the primaries. Let your complaints be heard, and don't let your pocket get emptied if you think the candidate doesn't deserve it right now. Of course it's important to vote for Obama -- there is no other realistic choice, and please don't get me started on that -- but no one said you have to do it with enthusiasm. And the campaign just may realize it is making a mistake. And if it's not making a mistake, and they are just smarter than all the rest of us, then they really don't need your energy and your money anyway and he's going to win.
