The California Legislature has approved May 22nd as "Harvey Milk Day" to celebrate the slain gay rights activist. It's about time. If this important history isn't taught in schools it will start to slip away from us. Before becoming official the holiday still has to return to the Assembly for concurrence and then to the Governor for approval. Oh, and we probably don't need to tell you that not a single Republican voted for the bill. They'd prefer schools focused on teaching important things, like intelligent design.
