As I pointed out, Log Cabin Republicans had previously assured us that Palin was actually the moderate, fresh new voice who was going to change the Republican Party -- only to now see that she has come out for a federal marriage amendment, which even John McCain didn't support. So what are they saying now?
Rod McCullom contacted them for a response, and it's pretty pathetic:
We disagree with Gov. Palin on this issue, but we're glad that Sen. McCain agrees with us. The president sets the policy for the administration. Sen. McCain twice voted against the federal marriage amendment and continues to believe the states should decide this issue.
So now it's all about McCain, but before it was all about Palin as the future of the Republican Party. Please.
