This is a clip from my discussion on the show on Friday about the gay question at the debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, in which Palin tried not to appear antigay while still trying to speak in code to religious conservatives.
Gwen Ifill blundered out of the gay by claiming that Alaskans had domestic partnership rights -- they don't, only state workers do, and that came about by a Alaska Supreme Court decision -- and certainly Sarah Palin did not support the effort. She said she was opposed to these rights but vetoed a bill that would have banned them only because the bill was unconstitutional.
I discussed Biden's response to the question ans well as Palin's response.
