R.I.P. Eartha Kitt

Dead at 81. What a life: Entertaining in every medium, standing up to Lyndon Johnson and the Viet Nam War, making Ladybird cry, helping homeless youth, becoming a gay icon, a TV superstar and enthralling live audiences everywhere. I went to see her a few years ago at the Cafe Carlyle. Just stunning. She was still going strong right before she died.

We'll play some Eartha on the show today. Yes,I guess "Santa Baby" is a must right now, but I like "This is My Life."
