Today's Show: Washington DC Marriage Bill

3:30pm EST: Earlier this week, the DC City Council passed a bill legalizing same sex marriage in Washington DC. According to Michael Crawford, co-chair of DC for Marriage, "This is a milestone for the LGBT movement for a number of important reasons. First, the overwhelming vote proves we can win legislatively. Second, D.C. will be the first majority-minority jurisdiction to legalize marriage. And, third, D.C. will be the first place below the Mason-Dixon Line to end discrimination against same-sex couples and their families." He joins us this afternoon to talk more about the success of the bill to this point and the obstacles it still has to go through, including a law suit by Bishop Harry Jackson and to get through the United States Congress.
