Today On The Signorile Show!

3:35pm ET - On September 11th in downtown Philadelphia’s City Center, a gay couple was ruthlessly attacked by a mob of what was described as ‘well dressed’ assailants.  Following the assaults in which anti-gay slurs were shouted and which sent both victims to the hospital the identities of some of the attackers has been revealed as a result of social media detective work by twitter and facebook users.  Joining us today to discuss this attack and explain the work being done in the Pennsylvania state legislator to get LGBT people included in the states hate-crime laws is Victor Fiorillo, the Senior Reporter and A&E Editor at Philadelphia Magazine who has been closely covering this case.  You can also follow Victor on twitter.

4:35pm ET - Fighting internalized homophobia is an uphill battle. For Jon Derek Croteau, the author of the memoir My Thinning Years: Starving the Gay Within, the only way to deal with the realization of his homosexuality was to punish himself with extreme dieting and exercise, which eventually became a full-fledged war with anorexia and bulimia. His traumatic childhood, headed by an abusive and outwardly homophobic father, made it nearly impossible for him to come to terms with who he really was. Jon joins us today in studio to discuss how he overcame his struggles with eating disorders and how he grew to accept himself, hoping that by telling his story, he can help others going through a similar struggle.  You can also follow Jon on twitter and facebook.
