Today On The Signorile Show

3:35pm ET - Last Friday in Austin, Texas, a man named Larry McQuilliams was shot and killed by police after he attacked a federal courthouse and a Mexican consulate, which he also seemingly tried to set on fire.  Before he was gunned down by police he was able to fire more than 100 rounds in the downtown area and subsequent searches by police have revealed that he possessed several weapons, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and a map pinpointing 34 other buildings as possible targets.  Also found in his van was a copy of “Vigilantes of Christendom,” a book connected with a Christian terrorist group known as the Phineas Priesthood.  Joining us today to discuss this group and how the media and American society is ignoring the growing rise in religiously based domestic terrorist groups is Jack Jenkins, the senior Religion Reporter for ThinkProgress.org.  You can also follow Jack on twitter.

4:35pm ET - Prison is a dangerous place, especially for gay and transgender inmates.  They are far more likely to be victims of harassment and assault than other inmates—13 times more likely to be raped (according to a study by the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal).  The L.A. Men’s Central Jail created K6G--a special wing to protect gay and transgender inmates.  Journalist Ani Ucar obtained unprecedented access to the unique wing for L.A. Weekly.  She joins us today to share her exclusive look inside the gay wing of L.A. Men's Central Jail.  You can also follow Ani on twitter.
