Today on The Signorile Show!

4:05pm ET - On Friday, in what is being seen as a major coup for John Ellis “Jeb” Bush, leading evangelical attorney Jordan Sekulow announced that he signed on as a senior adviser to Bush’s Right to Rise political action committee.  With this announcement the Bush campaign is hoping to better woo socially conservative voters for his all-but-certain campaign for the presidency in 2016.  However, the hiring of Sekulow will provide problems for Bush on other fronts and do major damage to his image as a moderate Republican.  Sekulow, who helms the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), has also been at the forefront of his organization’s work to keep homosexuality criminalized in Africa, opposing abortion even when a mother’s health is endangered, and espousing incendiary anti-Muslim views.  Joining us today to discuss all things Bush and Sekulow is Luke Brinker, the Deputy Politics Editor for Salon.com.  You can also follow Luke on twitter.

4":35pm ET - Almost everyone agrees that getting an education is extremely important and can put you on the path to success in your chosen field; however the cost of education has soared in recent years to the point where many Americans are not sure they will be able to afford college for either themselves or their children.  At this point in our history student debt tops $1 trillion, and many students will graduate with more than $100,000 of debt, a terrible burden at the beginning of one’s career.  Joining us today is Kevin Carey, the director of the education policy program at the New America Foundation, who has been thinking about the role of universities in American life for virtually his entire career, and whose new book The End of College: Creating the Future of Learning and the University of Everywhere takes a look at the history of our education system and what the future will bring in terms of higher education in the United States.  You can also follow Kevin on twitter.
