4:35pm ET - Yesterday, The
Supreme Court released its five-to-four decision in Alabama Legislative Black Caucus v. Alabama and Alabama Democratic Conference v. Alabama
which offers a small, and perhaps only temporary, victory for minority voters
in a dispute over the redrawing of Alabama’s legislative districts after the
2010 census. The Court sided with the
plaintiffs who argued that the new Republican drawn district lines amounted to
nothing more than racial gerrymandering intended to disenfranchise minority’s
and Democrats. Joining us today to
discuss the case and the implications the decision will have concerning other
cases of gerrymandering around the country is Ari Berman
