Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Michelangelo is LIVE today from SiriusXM's Washington D.C. Studios!

3:35pm ET - Last Thursday, Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced that his administration will file a lawsuit against the federal government for threatening to withhold more than $1 billion in funding for hospitals if the state fails to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act; and according to Jonathan Cohn, the Senior National Correspondent for The Huffington Post the political fight over healthcare in Florida is both unusual and revealing because it pits Rick Scott, against some members of his own party and lays bare the motives of the Affordable Care Act's most determined detractors.  Jonathan joins us today to talk about Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Republicans an Anti-Obamacare tantrum and why it’s bad for business in the Sunshine State.  You can also follow Jonathan on twitter.
4:35pm ET - The question of whether men are truly necessary in the biological destiny of the human race is one that has been explored by scientists and philosophers for many years, and in his new book Women After All: Sex, Evolution, and the End of Male Supremacy, Dr. Melvin Konner a Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Program in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University, explores this question, and sheds light on the biological and cultural differences between men and women.  Using many colorful examples from the natural world he argues that maleness in humans like many of other creatures is hardly necessary to the survival of the species. Dr. Konner joins us today to discuss the book, and how the end of male supremacy will lead to a better, wiser world for women and men alike.
