4:05pm ET - Only a few days ago
both the DOJ and FBI acknowledged that its forensic experts provided faulty and exaggerated testimony favoring government prosecutors for two decades by pushing
the use of Microscopic hair comparison as valid evidence in trials despite the
fact that in 2009, the National Academy of Science called the practice “highly
unreliable”. These revelations have
created a national scandal that’s propelled the largest post-conviction review
in the country’s history. Joining us
today to discuss the practice and the “science” behind it which has proved to
be wrong but not before hundreds of men had been convicted or even executed is Kate Briquelet a national reporter for The Daily Beast. You can also follow Kate on twitter.
4:35pm ET - Early last summer
Investigative Journalist Alan Berlow
began making contributions to the National Rifle Association to see where his money
would end up. And according to his report for Yahoo News some of the money quickly found its way into the account
of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, the NRA’s political
action committee despite the fact that he never knowingly contributed to the
NRA-PVF. Which according to some of the
nation’s top experts on federal election law may be a big problem for the NRA
because, this is illegal. Alan joins us
today to discuss the NRA’s possible illegal fund raising and political spending.
