Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

4:05pm ET - When Bernie Sanders jumped into the 2016 presidential race, he was widely hailed as a far-left socialist who would appeal to the liberal wing of the Democratic Party and provide a liberal challenge to Hillary Clinton. But according to Mark Joseph Stern of Slate before liberal Democrats flock to him, they should remember that he stands firmly to Clinton’s right on one issue of overwhelming importance to the Democratic base… gun control.  Mark joins us today to discuss Sen. Sanders voting recorded on gun control.

4:35pm ET - The FestaConfederada, which is held as often as four times a year in Campo, an area carved out of the sugar cane fields outside Americana, a modern city of some 200,000 residents in the state of São Paulo, although one would be excused for thinking they were somewhere in the deep south of the US.  All the participants in the festa are “Confederados” – fifth-generation descendants of Southerners who immigrated there in the days following the Civil War.  Joining us today to talk about the Confederados is historian and author Ron Soodalter who wrote all about the min op-ed for The New York Times.
