Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Later this month, the United States Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether same-sex couples have the right to marry, however even if the Justices side with equality the majority of those couples will still face significant legal discrimination in their home states. According to a new report by the Movement Advancement Project (MAP), 61 percent of the LGBT population in the U.S. will continue to live in states with medium or low legal protections—or in states that have outright hostile laws.  Joining me today to discuss the study and its findings is Ineke Mushovic, the Executive Director of the Movement Advancement Project.  You can also follow Ineke on twitter.

Back in April, Bruce Jenner came out as transgender during an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC, and now Jenner is ready to introduce herself as Caitlyn to the world.  In a photo shoot shot by Annie Leibovitz, the former Olympian appears on the July cover of Vanity Fair and inside the magazine pages opening up about her transition.  Joining me today to discuss the photo shoot and how all the publicity that Caitlyn is garnering is affecting the transgender community is ground breaking trans-reporter Eden Lane who is the creator, host and producer of In Focus with Eden Lane, a Colorado Pubic Television weekly program celebrating Arts and Culture.  You can also follow Eden on twitter.
