As the sun set last
Friday night, Republicans were headed into the weekend and what remains of the
current Supreme Court term with a solid majority and a docket full of some of
the most consequential cases in decades. Affirmative action, abortion, birth
control, immigration, an effort to shift congressional power to Republicans are
all currently before the justices and the fact that the balance of power on the
court has just changed as a result of Justice Scalia’s death seems to be lost
in all the media coverage surrounding the talk about his replacement. Joining me today to talk all about the impact that Justice Scalia’s death will have on the current batch of cases in front of
the Court is Ian Millhiser, Senior
Fellow at the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Editor of
ThinkProgress Justice. You can also follow Ian on twitter.
