Last Wednesday, as part of the ongoing backlash
to Marriage Equality, the Tennessee House of Representatives passed a bill that
would allow mental health counselors to turn patients away based on the
counselors' religious beliefs and or personal principles. The state Senate has also approved the bill
and it will be shortly heading to the Governor’s desk for his signature. Joining me today to talk all about this bill
which legalize discrimination in Tennessee is Art Terrazas, Director of Government Affairs for the American Counseling Association which has called the bill an "unprecedented
attack" on the counseling profession and government overreach.
