The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127

Yesterday, a three-judge panel of the Richmond-based US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, by a 2-1 vote, ruled that District Judge Robert G. Doumar erred by not deferring to the federal Department of Education’s requirement that schools let transgender students use restrooms consistent with their gender identity.  The ruling is a victory for transgender students and Arthur Leonard, a professor of law at New York Law School joins me today to talk all about the case, the ruling, and the implications of it going forward.

In his new book, Lies, Incorporated: The World of Post-Truth Politics, my good friend and colleague Ari Rabin-Havt who you all know as the host of The Agenda here on SiriusXM Progress 127, dug deep through mountains of documents and research to reveal a consortium of professional liars hell-bent on undermining progress with manufactured misinformation and manipulated facts.  By systematically compiling an incriminating dossier of lobbyists, propaganda spinners, unethical authorities, and “unscrupulous think tanks,” collaboratively known as “Lies, Incorporated”, Ari shows how these groups channel misinformation and generate public confusion around the most controversial hot-button issues of our time, and he joins me today in studio to talk all about the book.
