As diplomats from
around the world are gathering in New York this week for United Nations
meetings, one of the items on their agenda is combating climate change, and serving as an urgent motivator for these talks is the possibility that a
climate science denier could soon become America’s president. Donald Trump, has called climate change a
“hoax” and said that as president he would “cancel” the UN’s new climate pact,
the Paris agreement, which was finalized last December, but could he actually do this and what would be the ramifications of this? Joining me today to talk all about how he
could possible do this and what the ramifications of that would be is John Upton who is a Senior Science
Writer at Climate Central.
