Today on The Michelangelo Signorile Show on SiriusXM PROGRESS ch.127
Since kicking of his
campaign for President, Donald Trump has managed to insult just about every
demographic group in the country with the exception of straight white Christian
men. He has denigrated Latinos, African-Americans,
Veterans, LGBT people, Asians, POW’s, women, people with disabilities, Jews,
and Muslims just to name a few; and Americans have tolerated pretty much all of
this. But it seems that for many, the leaked 2005 video in which he is heard
bragging that “when you’re a star, you can do anything” to women—including
“grab ’em by the pussy”—was a bridge too far.
However there are still others that absolutely agree with Trump and
joining me today to talk all about these people is Olga Khazan who is a staff writer at The Atlantic.
On Monday, Yahoo News’
Katie Couric released and interview with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and much
to the disappointment of many of her fans the progressive icon commentated
bluntly and in patronizing terms on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin
Kaepernic protest of the national anthem.
Joining me today to talk all about Justice Ginsburg’s comments, what it
says about her understanding of today’s struggle for racial justice, and why
she should still be considered a progressive hero, flaws and all is Mark Joseph Stern who is a writer for Slate where he covers the law and LGBTQ
issues.

If you were to ask even a casual observer what
the defining features of early 21st-century American politics are, they would
probably say… polarization, divisiveness, and dysfunction. But, was it always
this way and how did we get here? In his new book Deadlock and Disillusionment: American Politics Since 1968 Gary Reichard explores the politics and
policy debates that have shaped the present-day political landscape from Nixon
to Obama, to explain why our most recent decades have been characterized by
what he calls a hardening deadlock between the parties and an increasing
disillusionment in the electorate.
Throughout the campaign Speaker Paul Ryan has done his best to ignore the
racism, sexism, and vulgarities spewed by his Party’s nominee, but according to
reports he may have finally reached his breaking point with the GOP
candidate. According to the AP, the
Wisconsin Congressman
told fellow House Republican lawmakers
that he will no longer defend or campaign with Donald Trump and will instead
focus "his entire energy making sure that Hillary Clinton does not get a
blank check" with a Democratic Congress if she's elected president. Joining me today to talk all about this civil
war within the GOP is Adele Stan who is the senior Washington editor for
AlterNet and a columnist at The American Prospect.

Last night, Sec. Hillary Clinton and Donald
Trump met for the second time on the debate stage and joining me today to talk
