They Have No Shame

The Bush Administration's torture fetishists David Addington and John Yoo testified before a House Judiciary subcommittee this week, and we went through some of testimony, playing audio on the show. Addington (who spent a lot of time at the hearing stroking his beard like a Bond villian) had this to say when asked by the subcommittee chairman whether it was legal to torture a detainee's child:

"I don't agree or disagree with it, Mr. Chairman. I don't plan to address it, I'm not here to render legal advice to your committee. You do have attorneys of your own to give you legal advice."
Well that tells you all you need to know right there. This, of course, came on the heels of John Yoo refusing to say whether or not the President has the authority to bury a person alive.
