Today's Show: Carjacked

4:30pm EST - When Americans talk about the type of cars they would like to own, they often say they'd prefer cars that are fuel-efficient, safe, reasonably-priced--- if also, fun! But instead, they choose vehicles that are bigger than we need, more expensive than we can afford, and get mileage no better than the Model-T. Why is there such a disconnect between what we say we want and what we have? Catherine Lutz, co-author of Carjacked: The Culture of the Automobile & Its Effect On Our Lives, joins us this afternoon to answer this question and also provide solutions as to how we can be more efficient.
