Today on the Signorile Show

In news that broke late this morning, The U.S. Supreme Court, in an 8-1 decision, ruled that names of those who sign antigay petitions must be made public. It's a ruling that could have a sweeping effect on the future of antigay ballot measures. We'll talk about it and speak at 4:30 ET with Charlene Strong, one of the activists in Washington state who helped to propel this forward.

Should BP, which is still trying to contain the gusher in the Gulf Coast, begin yet another drilling operation in Alaska? As Mike pointed out in a blog post last night, "BP is moving ahead with a controversial and potentially record-setting project to drill two miles under the sea and then six to eight miles horizontally to reach what is believed to be a 100-million-barrel reservoir of oil under federal waters." We'll discuss this afternoon.

Yesterday, we spoke about Tom Brock, a church pastor who had claimed a recent tornado was caused by God's wrath against homosexuality. He had been outed by a local gay publication, Lavender, as being an ex-gay in a "conversion therapy" program. Even though he has been outted, he is still able to keep his job, because of his involvement with the ex-gay movement in the church. We'll go through this story today.

We also spoke about President Obama's firing of Gen. Stanely McChrystal and announcing Gen. David Petraeus, McChrystal's boss and now former CENTCOM Commander, to take over operations in Afghanistan. The president made claims in his speech that because personnel changed, that doesn't mean we'll be changing policy. We'll talk about it today.

Can you believe what the America Family Association is doing now!? Currently, there are demanding that Lionel Jordan, the mayor of Fayetteville, Arkansas, pull support he has given for the NW Arkansas Pride Parade. And that's not the wost part. Will Phillips, the 10-year-old who refused to say the pledge, is Grand Marshall of the Parade. AFA is claiming that making Phillips Grand Marshall is a form of child abuse. We'll get into this one today!

Guest / 3:30pm EST - What's its like to go from having it all to complete self-destruction? Bill Clegg, literary agent and author of Portrait Of An Addict As A Young Man, joins us this afternoon to talk about how he had a supportive partner and thriving business when he walked away from his world to embark on a two month crack binge.

Guest / 4:30pm EST - The US Supreme Court has ruled that the names in a petition to overturn a gay rights law in Washington state are to be made public. Charlene Strong, one of the activists who helped bring the case forward.
