Today On The Signorile Show!

3:35pm ET - The recent decision in the Hobby Lobby case has left many people why women are losing legal battles while gay people keep winning them all across the country as bans on same sex marriage are overturned in state after state.   There are many hypotheses to explain this, but according to Mark Stern a writer for Slate, two most overwhelmingly obvious possibilities are that Justice Anthony Kennedy likes gay rights more than women’s rights and that feminism, as insidiously framed by the Christian right, is all about sex—while LGBTQ equality has become a battle not for sex, but for dignity.  Mark joins us today to talk about this issue and explain why he feels that Americans need to wise up to the fact that reproductive freedom, like LGBTQ equality, isn't a question of sexual liberty: It’s a matter of human rights.  You can also follow Mark on twitter.

4:35pm ET - Michael Johnson was a gay student and wrestler who went by the nickname Tiger Mandingo at Lindenwood University in the St. Louis suburb of St. Charles.  On Oct. 10, Johnson was pulled out of his class and led away in handcuffs by the St. Charles police. He was later charged with one count of “recklessly infecting another with HIV” and four counts of “attempting to recklessly infect another with HIV,” felonies in the state of Missouri.  Joining us to discuss this case and the criminalization of HIV is BuzzFeed’s contributing editor Steven Thrasher.
