How Will Larry Craig Vote on Hate Crimes Bill?

Larry Craig is staying on for a while. And the Hate Crimes Prevention Act is being voted on tomorrow. How do you think he'll vote, if he votes at all? We had people calling his office on the show today (and calling many other senators) and his office was telling our listeners that the calls to his office were 50-50. They were also saying that his "past" voting record should indicate how he will vote, though they said he'd not yet released a definitive statement.

What's funny is that Craig, even if he is "not gay," as he claims, would nonetheless actually be voting in favor of protecting himself if he votes for it. That's because the bill protects people against hate crimes based on actual or "perceived" sexual orientation or gender identity. And if we took a poll of Americans -- including vicious gay bashers and thugs -- surely a huge majority would say they "perceive" the Senate's bathroom sex troller to be a homo.
