Call the Governor of New York

Gov. Paterson is polling support among New York State residents -- you have to give them a New York zip code to show you are from New York -- for his marriage decision, as the opposition has taken legal action. The Arizona-based anti-gay legal group, Alliance Defense Fund, filed its lawsuit last week, and several Republican state senators are named as party to the suit.

New York State residents, who simply must recite their zip code, should call: 1-518-474-8390 and say they support Gov. Paterson on marriage for gays and lesbians.

You will talk to a live person from the governor's office during business hours. Off hours there is an answering machine. Just say "I support the governor's position on marriage for gays," then give them your New York zip code.
