Five New York State lawmakers have joined with right-wing christian lawyers from the Alliance Defense Fund in a lawsuit to stop Governor Paterson's executive order mandating state agencies recognize gay marriages from California, Massachusetts and Canada. A spokesman for the ACLU said the lawsuit seems unlikely to go anywhere.

Also, it should be noted that the Alliance Defense Fund is based in Arizona, John McCain's home state.
